Each year, physicians across San Diego County are invited to identify colleagues they would trust with the care of their own family members as part of San Diego Magazine's annual "Physicians of Exceptional Excellence" survey. In the latest survey, more than 115 UC San Diego Health physicians were recognized as "Top Doctors," reflecting the organization's continued leadership in delivering exceptional care across the region.
Patients benefit from access to these highly regarded experts spanning nearly 50 specialties included in the survey, conducted by San Diego Magazine in partnership with the San Diego County Medical Society.

The honored physicians represent a broad range of specialties, including geriatrics, endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, radiation oncology, pulmonary care, family medicine and infectious diseases, underscoring the depth and breadth of expertise available at UC San Diego Health.

The Top Doctors distinction adds to a growing list of recognitions for UC San Diego Health. UC San Diego Health and its three hospitals (Hillcrest Medical Center, Jacobs Medical Center and East Campus Medical Center) were recently ranked as the top care facilities in California and the region and among the top 20 in the nation, according to the 2026-2027 U.S. News & World Report "Best Hospitals" report and earned national rankings in eight specialties and "high performing" designation for 22 procedures and conditions.
