In a step-by-step process, with the help of the teacher, you will discover the nuts and bolts of mindfulness through informal practices and formal meditations. 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and

Swati Desai, Ph.D., LCSW, is a psychotherapist, a meditation practitioner, and a trained Mindfulness Meditation teacher. Originally from India and trained in computer information systems with a doctorate from Anderson School at UCLA, Swati became a practicing psychotherapist 20 years ago. She followed her passion for integrating her Eastern roots with Western psychology by practicing Mindfulness based psychotherapy and by creating an App(2meditate)/Website(www.2meditate.com).
Her meditation training has been under the Vipassana (Mindfulness or Insight) approach from Indian master Guru Goenkaji, Trudy Goodman at InsightLA, Los Angeles, and Chris Germer for Mindful Self Compassion. To learn more about Swati’s work, check her website www.swati desai.com.
Kalika McClure E-RYT 500, has been a certified Hatha yoga instructor for 30 years. She completed her MBSR foundational training under the direction of Steven D. Hickman Psy.D. in 2012. Kalika teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, The Heart of Mindfulness, and Mindful Yoga at the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, and UC San Diego Centers for Integrative Health. She is Co-Founder, Co-Director and Teacher at "Womens Mindful Way…" programs. She has been a long time practitioner of meditation and yoga. Kalika's passion and life's work has been offering to support, empower, and guide students toward the pursuit of good health, joy and ease in all areas of life. She finds that her ongoing lifestyle of cultivating mindfulness from her own practice continues to be an invaluable gift.
