Every Saturday morning during the fall, UC San Diego Health offers free injury evaluations to high school student athletes in the San Diego Unified School District. You do not need an appointment, but student athletes must have a high school ID and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Injuries Requiring Referral or Emergency Care
Saturday injury screenings are available to evaluate injuries that commonly occur on the field. We may not be able to fully treat some injuries and may recommend a comprehensive physician evaluation, X-rays or MRI. The athletic trainer at your school can provide a referral card with all of the necessary information.
If you believe your injury is serious, do not wait for a Saturday clinic. The emergency room is usually the safest and most immediate place to receive care.

our physicians to provide clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, preventive services, and rehabilitation for acute and chronic injuries and medical conditions.
Concussion evaluation: We can connect you with
athletic trainers and sports physicians who have expertise in evaluating sports concussions. Our team is trained in the current standards of sports concussion assessment and return to play protocol required by California state law, California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and the San Diego Unified School District policy.
