The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine provides diagnosis and treatment services for patients with acute and chronic lung diseases.

In 2011, UCSD Medical Center was ranked 18th in the nation for the treatment of respiratory diseases by U.S. News & World Report. Pioneers in the development of the pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE) procedure for treating chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, our faculty are experts in the latest medical and surgical therapies for all forms of pulmonary disease.
