Chief Administrative Officer – Hillcrest Redevelopment
Lisa P. Rhodes is the chief administrative officer for perioperative and procedural services, overseeing anesthesia, procedural and surgical services across all UC San Diego Health locations.
She also serves as the chief administrative officer over the Hillcrest redevelopment plan. In this role, she focuses on the planning, construction and site development of the future state-of-the-art Hillcrest campus.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Rhodes was the chief administrative officer responsible for the successful opening of the Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion at UC San Diego Health. She also served as administrative vice chair for the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Urology, Surgery and Emergency Medicine at UC San Diego Health. In these roles, she oversaw the operations, program growth and performance of each department.
Ms. Rhodes won the San Diego Business Journal's "Women Who Mean Business" Award in 2010 for her accomplishments in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Before joining UC San Diego Health in 2001, she spent five years in managerial roles at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center (Chicago), including the lead administrator for the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. During that time, she also was a member of the management team that reported to the chief of cardiovascular services.
She holds a B.A. from Cornell University and a Master of Public Policy/Health Care Policy & Administration from the University of Chicago. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Ms. Rhodes is also a member of Southwestern Yacht Club, where she enjoys boating with her family and is actively involved in Southwestern Yacht Club's junior sailing program.
