Patsy Bouzan, MHA
Chief Contracting Officer
Patsy Bouzan is the chief contracting officer for UC San Diego Health. In this role, she leads all payer contract negotiations for UC San Diego Health and UC San Diego Health Physician Group. She develops new partnerships and strategies under value-based arrangements to ensure we are well positioned for longer term shifts in the regional market.
Ms. Bouzan has been with the organization for more than 20 years, most recently as the deputy chief contracting officer. In that role, she contributed to strategic discussions to optimize market share through expansion of the portfolio of managed care products, built relationships with key providers in the market and developed strategic relationships with key payors of highly specialized services.
She has developed relationships with health plans, managed care organizations, community providers and hospitals to facilitate the triple aim of the right care in the right setting at the right time. She also led UC-wide initiatives such as UC Self-Funded Plan benefit restructuring and other self-funded plan strategies to attract employees to UC San Diego Health.
Ms. Bouzan holds a Bachelor of Science in animal physiology and neurosciences from UC San Diego, and a Master of Health Administration from Cornell University. Ms. Bouzan enjoys spending time with her family and outdoor activities including golfing, camping and off-roading.
