Chief Administrative Officer — Perioperative Services
Lisa Rhodes serves as chief administrative officer for perioperative services, overseeing anesthesia and surgical services across all UC San Diego Health locations.
Before assuming this post in 2018, Ms. Rhodes was the chief administrator responsible for the successful opening of the Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion at UC San Diego Health. She also served as administrative vice chair for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Department of Urology at UC San Diego Health.
In addition, Ms. Rhodes was associate chief administrative officer, helping to oversee the operational and clinical program growth of the departments, and sharing responsibility and accountability for their clinical operation and performance.
Ms. Rhodes won the
San Diego Business Journal's "Women Who Mean Business" Award in 2010 for her accomplishments in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health in 2001, she spent five years in managerial roles at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center (Chicago), including the lead administrator for the Department of Emergency Medicine and Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. During that time, she also was a member of the management team that reported to the chief of cardiovascular services.
Ms. Rhodes holds a B.A. from Cornell University and a Master of Public Policy/Health Care Policy & Administration from the University of Chicago. She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association, the Academic Orthopaedic Consortium, and the American Urologic Association Practice Manager's Network.
She is also a member of Southwestern Yacht Club, where she sails with her family and serves as a member of the advisory board for Southwestern Yacht Club's junior sailing program.
