Expressive Arts Workshop

These workshops help patients tell their stories through different types of art. They are designed to assess, support and strengthen resilience and improve quality of life in oncology patients and caregivers. Each type of art is usually presented through a series of six to eight weekly workshops. We encourage you to participate in all sessions within a particular series; however, we understand that you might miss sessions or join once the series is already underway due to priorities in your care. We encourage patients and family members to participate in all sessions but also welcome anyone who can only join 1 class.

Community Exercise Programs

Livestrong at the YMCA

Since 2007, Livestrong has partnered with the YMCA to promote the importance of physical activity after a cancer diagnosis. This 12-week program — offered at little to no cost — is designed to help cancer survivors improve their strength and quality of life. Individuals meet with a trainer for one-on-one training. Service is available for individuals living with a cancer diagnosis or post-treatment. The trainer focuses on strength, increasing flexibility, endurance, balance, confidence and self-esteem. If you are interested in finding a YMCA close to you, call 855-220-7777. The hotline is offered in English and Spanish.
