Dietetic Internship

The UC San Diego Health Dietetic Internship (DI) is a nine-month program with a Medical Nutrition Therapy concentration. We accept 10 interns per program year.

Under the supervision of registered dietitians and preceptors, dietetic interns will rotate through experiences in clinical nutrition, food service management, ambulatory and community nutrition. Upon satisfactory completion of program requirements, graduates will be eligible to take the registration examination for dietitians by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

You will be part of the San Diego region’s only academic medical center, which makes UC San Diego Health the premier destination for those requiring complex multidisciplinary care. Our facilities include hospitals, specialty care centers at two campuses (in La Jolla and Hillcrest), and several outpatient clinics across San Diego County. Find out more about our locations and the medical specialties and services we offer.

Our Dietetic Internship program was founded in 2010, and we're proud to have more than 80 graduates pass the exam to become Registered Dietitians.
