UC San Diego Health offers our nurses many educational opportunities, including online and instructor-led classes, covering a wide range of practice areas.

The Department of Nursing Education Development and Research (EDR) is an accredited provider of Continuing Nursing Education by the California Board of Registered Nursing. The department serves as an internal education resource for our nurses.

Funding and Scholarships Available

Most course offerings are free to UC San Diego Health Employees. For employees exploring other educational opportunities, funds and scholarships are available.

Bridges to Nursing Excellence

Bridges to Nursing Excellence is a transitional development program founded by a team of Nurse Managers, Nurse Engagement Specialists and our Talent Acquisition Team. The program offers career opportunities to current UCSD Health nurses interested in transitioning to a new specialty and/or higher level of acuity by offering specified "New to..." job openings.
