September 17, 2007  |

The 14th annual Bruce Gorder UCSD 5K Walk For Melanoma takes place Saturday, October 13, on the beautiful campus of the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla.  The goal of the walk is to increase public awareness about prevention and early detection of melanoma, and to raise research funds to help find a cure.  Breast cancer survivor Bill Griffith of KGTV 10News is this year’s emcee and honorary chair.  Registration begins at the Moores UCSD Cancer Center at 8 a.m. and features an event t-shirt, a prize-drawing entry for all registered attendees and a professional melanoma and skin cancer screening by community dermatologists.  Registration fee is $25.
