UC San Diego Health has hospital campuses in two San Diego neighborhoods: Hillcrest and La Jolla.
If you are traveling for treatment, please confirm the location where you or your family member will be treated before booking your lodging.
Discounts at Bartell Hotels
All eight local Bartell Hotels extend preferred discounts to UC San Diego Health patients and their families, as well as professors, students, parents, alumni, family, friends and employees associated with UC San Diego. When you book and stay with Bartell Hotels, the company donates 10 percent of the total room cost back to UC San Diego Health Family Houses, which provide affordable and comfortable lodging for the out-of-town families of patients undergoing long-term care for serious illness.

Family Houses at UC San Diego Health
Families of patients undergoing long-term care at UC San Diego may be eligible to stay in our Family Houses in Hillcrest and La Jolla. For a referral to Family Houses, please talk to your care provider or email familyhouse@health.ucsd.edu.
Other Hotels
Several hotels and motels offer special rates for UC San Diego Health patients. We recommend asking for a UC San Diego Health rate when you book your room. Note that you may need to call the hotel's local San Diego number; reservation agents at toll-free numbers may not be aware of special rates.

- American Cancer Society Patient Lodging Programs provide housing options for cancer patients and their families.
- Hattie's House provides free short-term housing in volunteer host homes and donated apartments for families and friends with a loved one in the hospital.
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a "home away from home" for families with children being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions, at local hospitals.
- San Diego Fisher House provides homes for the families of military undergoing medical crises.
