UC San Diego Health Mission
To deliver outstanding patient care through commitment to the community, groundbreaking research and inspired teaching.
One way an organization provides first-class medical care is to notice and reward excellence and always pay attention to opportunities for continuous improvements, corrections or innovations that can add value to health care delivery for patients and staff.
We established the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) in 2019 as is one of many efforts to this end.
PFAC Vision
To lead the way in patient-centered care where everyone feels acknowledged, respected, and valued throughout their healthcare journey.
Our Purpose and Goals
Under the leadership of staff and community co-chairs, the Council offers strategic input to strengthen programs and processes related to patient care. Each year, the Council decides on specific areas for attention.
Although UC San Diego Health has many ways patients can communicate with providers, this is a direct channel that goes beyond specific experience and looks at delivery of quality care in a holistic and systemic way.
The Council emphasizes addressing diversity and inclusion, transparency, patient satisfaction and a strong interest in the care of UC San Diego Health team members.
