Find a Provider come from patient surveys conducted by NRC Health, also known as National Research Corporation. NRC Health is a patient experience company that surveys between 35 and 50 million patients annually. Each year, nearly 60,000 patients who receive care at UC San Diego Health respond to our surveys. We use survey responses to improve all aspects of patient care, including quality, safety and experience.
Who receives an NRC Health survey?
Patients who receive care at UC San Diego Health are sent a survey from NRC Health.
How are NRC Health surveys distributed?
NRC Health surveys are distributed by email and phone outreach methods. This process ensures that all feedback comes directly from patients who have been treated by our providers.
How are my ratings and comments shared?
The survey is voluntary and confidential. Comments displayed on our website are anonymous. No patient names or contact information will be displayed.
How are star ratings for providers determined?
Star ratings are based on patient responses to the question: “How likely would you be to recommend this provider to your family and friends?” on both Medical Practice and Telehealth surveys.
Are all comments posted?
We post both positive and negative comments from patient surveys. NRC Health manually screens the comments to eliminate private patient information, foul language and irrelevant information.
Why doesn’t my provider have a star rating?
Star ratings are displayed on a provider’s profile only after NRC Health receives a minimum of 30 survey responses within the past 24 months. This provides balance and ensures that the data is statistically valid.
