Inpatient Psychiatric Care

For adults who need the highest level of psychiatric care, we offer inpatient care within a fully staffed medical and surgical hospital.

Our inpatient units provide a caring and compassionate environment for serious mental health conditions.

Adult Neuropsychiatric & Behavioral Medicine Unit

This is a locked, 18-bed, self-contained area at Hillcrest Medical Center that provides comprehensive and intensive therapeutic services for adults with severe functional and organic psychiatric disorders. The primary focus of this unit is to offer treatment for emergent symptoms. It also prepares patients for follow-up treatment in a less restrictive setting.

We emphasize maximum patient engagement and active problem-solving. We also embrace a comprehensive approach to treatment and recovery that includes mental health, social and medical care services.

Behavioral Health Unit

This is a secure, 30-bed unit at East Campus Medical Center specially designed to meet the needs of older adults ages 50 and up. It provides a safe, structured and compassionate environment to support the complex mental health needs of aging individuals.

The unit offers specialized care for acute psychiatric conditions such as psychosis, mood disorders and other age-related psychiatric illnesses. Our multidisciplinary team — including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, mental health clinicians and support staff — works collaboratively to deliver personalized treatment plans that promote stability, dignity and quality of life.

The unit emphasizes therapeutic engagement, family involvement and recovery-oriented care within a secure setting that ensures the safety and well-being of all patients.
