Volunteer Services

Our Pet Therapy Dogs Lend a Helping Paw to Patients

UC San Diego Health encourages you to volunteer. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to apply, but no prior experience is required - just your enthusiasm and ability to perform at least 100 hours of service. Our volunteers play an integral role in assisting UC San Diego Health personnel in their activities of patient care, education and research.

You Make a Difference

Each volunteer helps make our program unique. We truly value our volunteers, knowing that they are an important part of the team at UC San Diego Health. At the same time, many of our volunteers say that their work here has been one of the most rewarding and personally fulfilling experiences.

Why Volunteer?

"I could tell from my first day that UC San Diego Health works as a team and supports one another in each department while giving safe care. I have never been in a hospital with such positive people."
