Better Pain Control Options for Gynecology Procedures
UC San Diego Health is the first health system in San Diego to receive national accreditation for in-clinic moderate sedation.
Moderate sedation, also known as conscious sedation, involves medications given intravenously and is used to decrease pain and anxiety during gynecological procedures that can be uncomfortable for patients.
Moderate sedation may be available for treatments including biopsies, hysteroscopies, IUD insertions, endometrial ablations, and family planning procedures including D&Cs.
Telehealth Services
We offer contraception services via virtual visits in addition to in-person appointments at Hillcrest Medical Center and Jacobs Medical Center.
