PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership

Thank you for your interest and consideration in the University of California, San Diego Health PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency program. All of our residency programs are committed to providing residents with a supportive learning environment and opportunities for professional growth through evidence-based practice, teaching, and research while encouraging the resident’s sense of responsibility and scholarly curiosity. The PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership program aims to build on the clinical foundation built during PGY1 training, exposing the resident to all aspects of managing a health-system pharmacy. Core learning areas for the program include pharmacy operations, personnel management, business and finance, technology and automation, and medication safety. Throughout the year, the resident has the opportunity to work with knowledgeable and passionate pharmacy leaders, and participate in several health system committees to help build strong inter-professional relationships that are critical for successful pharmacy management.
