We know that getting high-quality health services can be challenging for those who are transgender or nonbinary. Look to UC San Diego Health for the most comprehensive gender health program. We are the only hospital system in San Diego to offer the full spectrum of gender-affirming services to adults (ages 18 and up).
We want to help you feel comfortable throughout your gender journey. That's why we offer coordinated care with a licensed clinical social worker to help you navigate our services in a way that meets your individual needs.
How to Become a Patient
To become a patient, you must be age 18 or older. Contact our gender health team or make an appointment directly with the services listed below. HMO plans require a referral from your primary care physician (PCP) to see a specialist. You may also choose a PCP within our gender health program.
Coordinated Care
Our team includes program managers, therapists, medical staff, and insurance representatives who all specialize in gender-affirming care for adults. Together, we seek to provide an affirming environment for BIPOC communities and queer, trans and gender-diverse individuals. We are committed to supporting you during your gender health journey.
