UC San Diego Health's orthopedic providers offer online second opinions based on your imaging reports. The service is an easy and convenient way to receive a second opinion without traveling. Your imaging records will be reviewed by one of our orthopedic surgeons or advanced practice practitioners.

UC San Diego Health uses a secure online portal to receive your images and supporting documents and deliver a written review of your case. The cost is $150.  Here is the process and what you can expect.

Start a Second Opinion Consult
Create an Account Begin by creating an account on our secure portal.
Upload Your Information Fill out the medical information form and follow the instructions to upload your imaging reports and supporting documents.
Review Process Begins UC San Diego Health will notify you if we need any additional information. If your documents are complete, your case will be assigned to one of our expert orthopedic surgeons or advanced practice practitioners.
Report Sent to You within 7 Days UC San Diego Health reviews your documents and sends you a written report within seven business days.
Notified When Report Is Ready You will be notified that your consult is ready. You can log in, review your consultation, and then make an informed decision with your own physician.
Privacy Protection UC San Diego Health's registration team will contact you to verify your demographic information before our physician's report is filed in our records. This is to protect your privacy.
Follow-Up Consult Depending on your case, UC San Diego Health may also contact you to schedule any desired follow-up consultations.
