Bleeding and Clotting Disorders

At the Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders (CBCD) at UC San Diego Health, you'll find expert, compassionate care for adults and adolescents living with hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, thrombosis and other bleeding or clotting disorders.

Our multidisciplinary team, led by Dr. Annette von Drygalski, includes hematologists, nurses, physical therapists, social workers and others. We work together to provide personalized care, advanced therapies and comprehensive resources to support your physical, emotional and long-term well-being.

Whether you're newly diagnosed or managing a condition for years, we're here to make your care as comfortable and convenient as possible.

  • Physical and joint health: Physical therapy, guided exercise programs, massage therapy and nutrition support to help prevent joint damage, relieve pain and promote mobility and recovery after surgery
  • Coordination of dental and surgical care: Home factor infusion support for dental care and surgical procedures
  • Specialized surgical referrals: For interventions such as joint reconstruction, radiosynovectomy or lateral radial release
  • Guided transition of care: Seamless transfer from pediatric to adult care, including education and family coordination, in partnership with the hemophilia and thrombosis program at Rady Children's Health
