Medical Staff Administration performs credentialing and privileging services for all health care personnel who practice at UC San Diego Health facilities. We review and implement federal rulings and accreditation standards pertaining to medical staff and advanced practice providers (APPs). We also develop and enforce the rules and regulations that govern their activities.

The DEA fee exemption applies only to UC San Diego Health faculty and employed staff who treat patients at or on behalf of UC San Diego Health. To be eligible for the exemption, the following requirements must be met:
- Be currently employed and/or working at or on behalf of UC San Diego Health
- A UCSD address, including mail code
- An active UCSD email address
