Depend on our skills and experience to treat common and long-term illnesses and provide preventive care focusing on your overall health and well-being. We can also refer you to our world-class specialists, if needed, and coordinate care.
As part of the only academic medical center in the region, we conduct research to find better, safer treatments for you.
What is Family Medicine?
Unlike other specialties that focus on a particular organ or disease, family medicine treats most ailments and provides comprehensive medical care for people of all ages and health conditions.
Family medicine at UC San Diego Health prioritizes personal relationships and a model of compassionate care that puts our patients first.
In many ways, our approach to family medicine re-establishes the traditional importance of the family doctor — also called general practitioners (GPs) — but within the modern context of a highly advanced, complex medical system.
Patient-Centered Care
Our family medicine PCPs deliver the highest quality of care customized for you. We offer services that help simplify and clarify your path to health and well-being.
By emphasizing communication, shared decision-making, accessibility and continuity of care, your family doctor's office can become your medical home, where all aspects of care can be coordinated in a warm, welcoming and familiar environment.
Family Medicine Services
We provide several services to optimize your health, including:
- Helping you obtain appointments to see medical specialists
