Chief Marketing and Communications Officer
Kim Kennedy is chief marketing and communications officer for UC San Diego Health Sciences. She is responsible for all marketing, communications, and government and community affairs activities that advance the interests of UC San Diego School of Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and UC San Diego Health.
Ms. Kennedy has more than 25 years of experience managing marketing and corporate communications in higher education, finance and consulting. Prior to joining UC San Diego Health Sciences, she was director of marketing and communications at UC San Diego's Rady School of Management, where she was a member of the start-up team for the newly established business school.
Previously, Ms. Kennedy held a number of global marketing and communications positions for the financial services firm Deutsche Bank, ultimately acting as director of communications. She also held several European positions for Union Bank of Switzerland and Coopers & Lybrand.
Under her leadership, the Marketing and Communications team has earned many awards for excellence in the field, including 25 Health Care Communicators (HCC) of San Diego Finest Awards and five national awards from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
Ms. Kennedy holds an undergraduate degree from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and a graduate degree in architecture from the Architectural Association in London, UK.
