We're nationally known for our breastfeeding support and encourage skin-to-skin care. Learn about how we support you in caring for your newborn, including routine health screenings for infants.
As our mothers and new babies recover, we practice family-centered care, where fathers and support people are welcome. We encourage parents to bond with their infants through rooming in and caring for their newborns.
Both of our hospitals offer NICUs for babies who need special care, including a Level II Intermediate NICU at UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest and a Level III NICU at Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla.
